Savory Graniteware Turkey Roaster

You are looking at a graniteware turkey roaster that will do a beautiful job on a Thanksgiving turkey! I remember my Grandmother having one just like this. And, she lived in Granite City, IL, and she told me a lot of graniteware was produced there and hence - the name. I know that the conduction of the oven heat, while baking in graniteware, produces a delicious, moist roast or bird. The roaster is marked SAVORY on both sides and is a light blue/gray color however, this is difficult to read in the picture provided. There are some chips and nicks that have occurred with age, but if I was the same age as the roaster and had been worked hard over the years I would show some signs of wear. It seems that years ago everyone had large families and pot, pans and roasters had to be much larger than today. I know this roaster would hold a pretty big bird. The roaster measures 20" L (with handles) oval bowl section is 17&3/4" L x 11&5/8" W x 4&3/8" H. The lid measures 18" L x 12" W x 4&5/8" H (with top handle). Inside the dome it measures 3&7/8" high. This roaster would be a nice addition to your kitchen items from yesteryear; to be used for a spectacular dinner over the holidays!
