Venus Victoruis- Pauline Bonaparte- Antonio Canova- FS

The item you are looking at is a beautiful reproduction of the very famous sculpture Venus Victorious. It was very common to create portraits of people and depict them in the image of godlike figures, as with this sculpture. Most people consider this sculpture to be a depiction of Napolean Bonaparte's scandalous younger sister Pauline. Perhaps that's why the artist drew influences from the goddess Venus. This particular piece was made by M. Lucchesi and is from Marwal Ind Inc. It is also marked as haven been made in 1968. The item is in excellent condition and measures 23 inches in length. Upon inspection I discovered that this sculpture was made from some type of plaster cast so it is quite strong and a direct replica of the sculpture.
